UPVC Door Gearbox Replacement in Coleraine

A customer in Coleraine contacted Lighthouse Locksmiths after developing a problem with the locking mechanism on their UPVC door.

After removing the handles and inspecting the multipoint locking system, I diagnosed the fault as a failed MACO gearbox. Rather than replacing the entire multipoint locking strip unnecessarily, I sourced a suitable replacement gearbox to repair the existing system.

The faulty gearbox was removed and the replacement MACO gearbox fitted. Once everything was reassembled, I adjusted the door and keeps to make sure the locking points engaged correctly and the key operated smoothly.

The complete locking mechanism was then tested several times to make sure the door was opening, closing and locking as it should.

Replacing the gearbox rather than the complete multipoint mechanism can often be a more economical repair when the rest of the locking strip is still in good condition.
